resembles a typical village with wattle and daub dwellings. The attraction of the village is the ancient Ayurvedic therapies, herbal teas and typical village cuisine with organically grown vegetables & fruits, and vegetarian cooking is on traditional wooden stoves as wood fire gives a unique aroma and taste to the food. The restaurant “wewe kade” (meaning boutique by the lake) adds to the totally indigenous experience.
Dambulla is in the north-central regions of the island and offers guests at the Warichichi Village, excellent opportunity to visit the islands ancient historical sites of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya and Kandy during their holiday. |
